Original Mosaic Art Of Fire Dancer In An Antique Wood Fireplace Mantle.
This is an original piece of art inspired by an antique carved wood fireplace mantle I’d had in my studio for years. I loved it so much, yet I didn’t have any idea of how to use it.
One night we built a massive bonfire from a rotting tree we cut down by the bayou. I mourned the tree, but was in awe of this fire. Huge flames licked up from the wood into the starry night. In the fire I imagined dancing figures and suddenly I knew I had to create this. What better mosaic in a gorgeous mantle than a fire dancer?!!!
So here she is, with rocks and shells and insects surrounding her.
The fireplace mantle is very old, very antique, and full of imperfections and I’d have it no other way. So please note these imperfections in the pictures.
Both the mantle and the mosaic are pretty badass and original, maybe the one piece your space needs!
