Up for sale: Mickey Mantle & Roger Maris Original 1961 UPI Telephoto
This photo features the M & M Boys with President Harry Truman in September of 1961 as they chased the single season home run record.
This photo is a UPI Telephoto and is a very thin “onion” like paper as it was referred to during this era.
The photo has some discoloration and a large tear on the bottom section, as well as two smaller tears one near the bat, the other top center. The tears do separate the paper a bit when held up. The paper is brittle.
Many of these Telephotos did not survive the era or were discarded. This photo would look nice framed.
