Description
Here is a great antique Burke & James Ingento super large 8x10 camera. It was made at the turn of the 1900's and was originally designed as a Enlarging, Reducing & Coping Camera but this one has been used as a studio camera with the lens in the front of the camera and not in the middle. It has a giant 5 foot track once you put the extension on the camera. I extended the camera to approx 48" but didn't want to go further and put stress on the bellows. The bellows are in great shape and are heavy duty and strong. I tested them with a flashlight and only saw a few tiny pinhole leaks. They can be used as they are or easily repaired. The camera is quite sturdy and will accommodate a super big lens. It has three lensboard in the front being 6x6, 8x8, and 10x10. The 8x10 ground glass back is intact. The rear does not have any movements but the fornt does have rise and fall and side to side movements which work. The camera is missing some tightening fittings on the right side of the front standard but the ones on the left size work and hold quite well. The catch for the small door latch in the middle standard is not original. The fine focus adjustment piece on the back works. The bolts to attach and secure the rear track are not original. The camera looks great made of a nice hardwood. The camera is quite heavy and the box will weigh over 40 pounds. If your looking for a studio camera with giant bellows extension this is the camera for you. Due to its weight and size the camera is being sold "as-is" with no returns. I doubt it can be shipped overseas due to the size of the box. Check out my other auctions for many more vintage cameras and large brass lenses.
